Project details: The initial phone call for this assignment came from the vocalist of the band. He said he wanted something somber, eerie, and with pictures of graves. The musical style would be very gothic, with passages that were like horror movie soundtracks and other passages that were like heavy metal riffs. He was rather insistent on graveyard images, and so the next day I went to a local cemetery and began taking pictures. That is when I realized how overused this subject matter had become. I also felt like I was showing a lack of respect for the buried and their families. My solution was to capture the essence and mood of the cemetery by using images of gates and the landscape. Since this was originally released, there have been major changes with the band, and I have reworked the art for the new name of the band, which is Goliath, signed to E-magine entertainment.
