Project details: This CD is an unusual conceptual recording. There is music, but the focus is on the lyrics and the spoken words which revolve around the theme of deception. The cover image is a metaphor of the way people act. The doll represents people as having a fake shell that they present to the world, and though the doll has one hand reaching out as a gesture of trust, the other hand is hiding a knife. If you look carefully at the dollar bills, you will notice the words “in God we trust” have been replaced to reflect the unfortunate truth that many in society look to lies and material possessions for help rather than to a higher power. The title of the CD was visible from the front because a clear tray was used to allow the left margin of the inner tray panel to show through.
